Violence within correctional facilities has been a growing concern for both guards and prisoners alike. Increasingly, wardens are finding themselves searching for solutions that offer additional security, allow for better monitoring, and supplement surveillance systems already in place. Adding audio to a security camera has proven to be a popular method to better capture audio signals while monitoring detention centers.

Aside from safety concerns, authenticating incident reports and clarifying “he-said, she-said” disputes can be difficult when altercations become violent. While video may show a person’s actions, it does not inform you of the intent behind them.

To combat address these challenges, Louroe worked with MCM integrated Systems to add audio security devices across multiple detention centers in Southern California.
